I've just had an s&s 106 kit with 583 cams installed into my 08 FLHT, faaarrrk!!!!!, what a difference, smoother to start, smoother to ride and the torque difference is unbelievable.

I have to have a final Dyno run in 1,000 kms to finish off the tuning so I'm expecting more shit-eating grins on my ugly head once that's done.

The only down sides thus far are 1. I've had to install a screaming chicken heavy duty clutch spring/clip, and 2. I used to get over 400kms to a tank with the stage 1 Harley kit, I think that's no longer gunna happen due to the above shit-eating grin factor coming into play. Also I think 16,000 kms out of a rear Dunlop will no longer happen.  Shit I'm happy.

Good on you Neale, it's a good package, I did the same but with the 585's. I thought it went well until I had it dyno'd and then I really found out how well it could go !

hi guys , not sure about procharger , my own bikes , 1 with lot of mods for 106 injected 2012 , has comp , cams , 58 t/b etc , tune with pc v has no trouble in doing 300 ks on 16 litres cruising at 100-110 , my other 106 injected eng turboed  will do the same , the fun  of injection you have almost endless adjustment , so at correct throttle position and correct afr , you should still have good mpg , if not ,maybe issue with tune at lower throttle position etc ,  my injected 106 2012 softy 6 gear 2200 rpm 100 ks , uses 5-7% throttle position , afr at that position is set to 14.1 , you can have your cake and eat it with injection , the moment i roll it on to 15% it will revert back to 13.0  or what ever i set it to , performance doesnt mean no economy , its all about the tune , cheers

Did you upgrade throttle body and heads?

Rick, it was done by APL at Windsor, in outer northwest Sydney.

Fat bat, the above company cleaned up the heads and they are doing an individual cylinder tune on a dyno. I haven't as yet had the chance to do many Kay's due to the bike going back as the clutch has developed a massive clutch slip at 3,000 rpm. I will post again once I get to put in a few kms.

A slight clutch upgrade when doing cams and big bore seems to be a must. I tried mine without and it slipped, fitted the SE Heavy duty spring and it hasn't missed a beat yet. Dyno showed no slippage at all

Thanks. Good to know. I thought you'd also upgrade or at least clean up the stock throttle body too if you went to the trouble of new cams and new top end??
