There's a couple of threads  regarding mileage on tourers from different brands.  Just replaced rear D407 .  18,500 kms,  99% country roads and highway  riding.  Was'nt much more left for me as I do a lot of long rides.

The replacement Dunlop ,(Stock Harley),  tyre is now called D407 T .     If you order a D407 you will get the D407 T   .  Basicly the same tyre.  They say you may get a couple of extra 1000 kms out of them, I'll let you know in 18,500 kms time !!!

This is my 4th D407 , I was giong to experiment with another brand , but these have done the job for me !!!

A Pic of old and new below .   Cheers

I've just passed 20k on my FLTRX, but need to replace it asap (read well over due). Seems 18k is on the money. Can I ask what you guys are paying gitted and balanced? I need both front and bavk and happy with the oem.
    Cheers

FXDF08, I removed and installed rear wheel myself, (save a few bucks). I buy from local Shop. (they can get Dunlop HD tires). For the rear D407T, tyre fitted and balanced, = $305. If you live in the City, you may get the package a little cheaper !!
You may want to check out the Dunlop American Elite range, there a little cheaper if you want to stay with an OEM type tire !!!

Throw them in the bin and go Night Dragon, if you can afford the lower mileage.

    Hi guys,
I got 17000k out of my dunlops (2013 RK) and around the same mileages with the oem's for my previous road king as well, earlier this year I changed for the Michelin Commander Two's and couldn't be happier with them, certainly make parking easier and seem to lean in quicker than my dunlops did and didn't have any problems in wet weather riding that I thought may of been a problem..... just sayin.

I replaced my 407 Dunny at 18000 k's on my 09 FLHT with another Dunny, the American Elite.

No real reason to change over, 18000 k's is good in any language, but my research from the different forums leaned to a tad softer tyre and a tad better wet weather there, very little in it though.

I am about to change mine soon, before they are worn out. They (Dunlops) just have such bad grip in the wet its not funny. This morning I rode to work on wet roads and again it was scary. The feels like its slides a little as I am going into corners which is very un nerving. My last Harley a FLSTC was the same on the Dunlops and I changed to the Pirelli night dragons and it was night and day difference. Pretty sure I will run the Dragons again.

I just replaced a D407t on my 14 Ultra after 24,000km, I probably could have gone a couple of 1000 more but as I'm now on a Tassy Road Trip decided not to wait. Was more than happy with there performance, so I stayed with the D407T

Canetoad how are the Mitchys doing after some miles on them now. I am mainly interested in how they are in the wet as I was just about to put the Avon Cobras on (next Saturday). My Dunlops scare the shit out of me in the wet, cant wiat to get rid of them.
