Have found a few good deals but is anyone in the know out there about the physical differences between later and early rear fenders say 09 and 13/14 ?

i think the taillights are different on the late model ones, but sounds like you'll be chopping that bit off..

The early EFI tanks had a cut out under the seat for the engine ECU (computer). I think this was 2007 and maybe 2008 only. After that they moved the ECU. TC
