    Hi guys and gals,

I am wondering if and how it is possible to put a 103 motor into a 89 to 96 era evo softail frame (they are hard mounted). Any and all suggestions warmly received. I was told in passing that there is an offset bracket that will do the job??!?!!?

What model bike would it be best to get the 103 from? Will *probably* mount to trailtec or revtec rear end or best case cenario if I could fit a whole HD driveline would be even better.

    Thanks all.

    NR

Would that be any year evo? Keeping in mind that there's the whole frame mounted thing.
Or do I need to be searching out an evo from the frames era?
    Cheers Chinashopbull !

Not quite true China, a TC will fit in an Evo frame as they are shorter and fatter....
You can buy a Rear bracket to mount gearbox in frame, if you use a 6 speed,
or you can mount the motor and use an Evo box to separate engine from gearbox.

what waynecraft said you can buy the adaptor from Vulcan engineering in the us or rollies it bolts to to engine than allows it to bolt to
the rear engine mount of the frame but you can only use a early tc 88 b ? buy memory that photo is a aftermarket frame

Yeah it's an Attitude motorcycles frame built to exact specs. I was at the shop on Monday to get an mso and my jaw dropped as to what they make.
They cnc 316stainless parts from top to bottom. They are the only company in Australia licensed to manufacture a motorcycle outright. They also import
bikes from the states and did 30 containers last year. I'm going to put up some info in another section of the forum, as if people knew this place existed in
Victoria and had the capabilities to make or import ANYTHING they would be in 7th heaven. The place is massive and the machines are all there to make
a bike from scratch - except the tyres.

Getting off the subject there though.
So what motor would you guys throw in there that would have some wicked power and hard mount to the frame.
I'm only interested in using a genuine HD engine.
I'm open to ideas........ Throw em at me folks

just had a look at Vulcans web site they now do the adaptor to suit 96 tc so maybe a 103 will fit if it has the same od dimensions
they also do a adaptor plate for the mtr to primary could be a why to go with, with all the late cheap low k mtrs around
ignitron should be easy , maybe a early tc carbie manifold or just buy a aftermarket big cube evo (easer)
but you would have something different

Why are you limiting yourself to a Harley engine?

If it's to keep with the heritage of the bike then surely an evo engine would do that best?

As for value and desirability, an evo with a twin cam engine is a bit odd

Personally l would look at the vast aray of single cam evo style engines with cubic capacitys l believe go to the 145 Tribute S&S engine and probably bigger again which will blow a twin cam into the proverbial weeds. None if not simple electronics , big carbs , big cams , big balls , trust me there are plenty of single cam Harleys that will make your balls bleed. You may have to jack the frame to get the long stroke in but who cares

Pertthog thanks I'll have a look and fat bat I'm looking to build with Harley parts as I want to build a Harley chopper not
just a kit type chopper. I've been looking and it's quite hard to find an evo that would fit that isn't an aftermarket copy.
As good as they maybe I wanna either have original ratty looking frame and tins with shines-a-lot aftermarket parts or
Vice versa but with all parts performing well above their stock capabilities. A rat chopper if you will.
As it so happens I have a great aftermarket frame as a starting point. So just have to find a good looking/performing
    engine and driveline etc.
