I think the in fighting has stuffed a lot of clubs, not only hog, soccer, footy, all sort of social clubs
My chapter has had a bit of shuffle this year, the director and road captain live 250k's from the sponsor dealer (Pt. Lincoln)
we in Whyalla hear that some of the old members are a tat pissed off, but had done the HOG thing long enough to not wont to go on.
we are trying a few different things, rides from Whyalla, that will incorporate Pt. Lincoln, then out through the western Eyre. not many rides came up through here and beyond before,

sometimes new people in committees need to be trusted by the old guard and a lot of the shit wont happen

I think you are right, the mob I have met all seem OK, but as I live 250k's away, I never seen any of the politics

I also think a club is as good as its members, and you put in is what you get out. after a few years of only a couple of people doing all the work don't help, rotating a committee is a good thing, new ideas ect. but the majority of people don't have a go and then complain.
like the crowd at the football, tell the umpire how bad they are, yet themselves can't umpire.

too many rules ,pins,badges,road captains,navigators,too much bullshit ,too many snaggers,lattes,cool t shirts,harleyemblems,yuppies,i ride between the 1%s and the hoggers,i ride alone,with one mate or a few ,the ride and the bikes and likeminded company is wat i enjoy.its like surfing ,trendy and the scene thing has created a certain image,so when the scene fades and you become A SOUL RIDER........the pure enjoyment comes to the front .

It's a shame that any club folds, but the HOG thing was born out of HD wanting to sell more bikes and accesories, wear ya bike out quick and buy another one etc. Stand around the dealers shop and buy that thingy ya didn't realy want.

For me this forum is the closest to group riding I wanna get, It's unofficial, sometimes disorganised but always fun, fast and furious with lotsa laughs thrown in.

This forum and the SE QLDs r the go we have guysand gals that just go for it when they fell like it and meet ya the next turn off . Its certainly not about rinding in a stagered formation wanting to overtake the slow fucker u got stuck behind .

I agree hog is ok but like ubedead66 says its fucked cause you can't overtake the slowtails Roadpigs and grannyglides when they sit on 60'ks thru corners and sit on 99 klms in the 100 zone etc.
I have heard of the HDforums rides I reckon they sound like fun and much less bullshit.

Clubs suck and they are all the same whether Hogs or others,it is all about rules and politics.Ride and be free and have heaps of friends without the bullshit!

Same problem with the local Ullysses  branch Too clicky, to much in fighting. Oh I also ride the wrong bike. Nothing like standing up at the meeting and being booed because you ride a harley, by some old fart on a $500 yamaha, or worse a scooter.  We do predominantly ride with our group of friends, which I would not mind  expanding at the Hog rally later on. Do have a couple of 1% guys who ride with us, unpatched and they know what riding is about!

There was a group of riders in the West that nearly had a chapter of the American Motorcycle Club off the ground about 18 months ago, they were all keen and then just fell away, not sure what happened but I for one was really looking forward to going over there to open the chapter up. There is a Central Victoria Chapter, I guess they will get flooded with enquiry from the disgruntled hoggies now.

I stopped my membership of HOG. it's run by women and everyone complains about experienced riders enjoying themselves and they no longer approve of anyone having a beer on a ride. In fact alot of the members are down right dangereous, lack of experience.
I know some will see this as an attack on HOG, it's not just an observation.

I also was a member of a hog club, for a whole 12 months. I also found it too clicky, it seemed to be all about who could afford what. Who had the latest bike and new hi performance gear. I was just your average Joe Blow who scrimped and saved to buy my bikes, I did not have all the hi-priced accessories. So I was looked down on.

Well I have prospered now and i am in a better position, so would they accept me now. WHO GIVES A SHIT.
I am what I am and will help any fellow rider if needed

Its not about what you own or how much cash you have.
Its about a love for a lifestyle and a passion for riding, If people are not in it for that then get the F**K out.
