    Looking for some different options.

Have an evo engine. Has been blistered back to bare metal.

Just wondering if you can two pack the engine and if the etch primer will be ok?? Or is the standard powder coat the go??

    Thanks.

Isn't two pack just "normal" paint? Myself I'd look into a high temp paint (spray can) or even the shit they paint pot belly stoves with. Color to taste I suppose.

Sand it all back with wet n dry. Use high temp primer for a coat or two followed by high temp black paint

You can use 2pak, but blasted clean, straight over the bare metal .....
Undercoat and heat do not mix...

Using undercoat will damper the heat transfer....not advised in using it. Much like painting a radiator - use the wrong paint and it will no longer efficiently transfer heat.

So 2Pack (or 2K) is a high temp paint? Anyone know the rating?

I don't know the rating but I painted my motor in a Hg Holden in 2 pack and to worked great. But Hg motors get hotter then water cool motors.

I asked a friend who messes with a lot of engines and he says 2pack is fine for engines. I learn something every day...mostly...sometimes.
