went for a ride last weekend and it got dark about 100ks before i got home. i had to ride down a steep winding hill (macquarie pass) and my headlight was focused about 10 feet in front of the bike. high beam focused about 12 feet away. it was bad enough that i had to pull over and wait for a car to pass and i followed it. does anybody know how to adjust / rectify this problem? the bike was imported and i dont think the headlight was adjusted properly cos the focus is slightly to the right, middle of the road. i will play around with it this weekend but if anybody can give me any tips it would be appreciated. cheers
Hey Beags, from memory you need to stand the bike upright and aim the headlight at a wall with a line at the same height as the centre of your headlight. I think 3.0m is the correct distance form the wall. This should set the aim right. Remember to allow for your weight on the bike as well. Just wondering about the issue with it shining to the right, an Oz headlight on low beam should actually light up more of the left side of the road. Is a headlight something that is changed during compliance? I'm sure there may be some better advice than mine out there, have you tried youtube?
Checkout youtube there are a couple on there, just make sure ya get an Ozzie vid. Also google it.
