anyone had some chrome plating done and who did you get to do it?
I recently had a brake pedal modified which then required rechroming.
This came with a warning that "chromers are a law unto themselves who wont prioritise or do rush orders" so even though the pedal will be cut, shortened and rewelded within a day or two, it could then take up to a week to get it back from the chromers.
The bike store sent the pedal to "A Class Metal Finishers" in Lonsdale Adelaide.....apparently the best in the business.
Three weeks later following multiple calls and still no sign of my bike, I had them retreive the pedal from the chromers (still unchromed) and put back onto the bike as is.....the bike store kindly sprayed a little silver paint onto it.
I then took the pedal into "Chrome Masters" in Salisbury. Dropped it off just before closing on Monday afternoon, picked it up on the Wednesday around lunchtime.................I now know who my chrome platers will be in future!
I had a set of apes chromed by gold coast electroplating in biggera waters
told it would be two weeks
went back after two and was told another week
went back after now three and they fucked it
went back after 4 after they fixed it and then charged full price.
had to grind back the bar ends for the grips to slide over but thats prob a good thing ...lots of chrome layers
Malta st Villawood i think are called Superchrome same factory as All Model Bumpers from the70's i had all my chooper chrome there done in 1975
