I got pulled up by the cops yesterday and he told me he didnt know if he could book me for my spike or not, but I should look into if it complies or not. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Matt.
I thought jousting with cyclists would be fun yeah the pipes r pretty loud and i live in queensland, toughest bikie laws in the country, even tho im not a bikie
I dunno, most of em ride in the middle of the road, dont they?
Very true
where bouts is the plate mounted?
I got smashed by them a while back for side mount plate,no cover on belt drive, no cover on chain no front guard. That short squirt cost me $630. plus the cost of the bits
that said im im seeing a fair few of side mount plates around at the moment, are they stock on some of the new models? Vrod, Breakout????
As for your aircleaner, as far as i'm aware it is illegal,Chopaweeza can prob confirm but for a bike to pass through compliance it must'nt have any sharp , pointed or protuding edges. This includes everything , even the frame so the cool looking curved dagger swingarms wont meet the std.
I got a bike cop that lives down the road and he wont cough up too much inside info...trust me.. ive tried.... thought it might come in handy next time i get pulled over for the old " random breath test" trick.
m
My phone puts photos on their side, computer puts them the right way????
He did help me out by sayin 'just get rid of the chrome bit and bend the plate so it stands straight up' to which i replied, 'yeah no worries, I'll get straight onto that'. Obviously he doesn't care if my bike looks like shit, as long as it complies!!!
No worries! I guess it did go slightly off track.
heres adding to not bringing the thread back on line,
I am 99.5 % sure I have read in the qld transport regs deep in the bowels of the hidden rules department that there IS a vert alighnment rule
i say this as my plate is curved as well ( but havnt been pinned yet touch wood)
i will try and dig the document up
not that it really maytters hee hee...........
not what I was looking for but somewhat helpful none the less. I note that they have very recently updated it. Im wondering if they removed ( changed) the curved plate regulation cause as long as my arse points south there was a non curved plate rule
Excerpt taken from the QLD transport vehicle modification codes of practice
I downloaded the whole document but my shit computer wont upload it ( porn riddled pos!)
A number plate is modified or trimmed in any way (for example, cutting or bending to aid fitting to the
vehicle).
? Number plate characters are not visible from any point within an arc of 45 degrees at a distance of 20
metres above and on both sides of the number plate.
? A number plate is mounted which is not in an upright position parallel to the vehicle’s axis when the
vehicle is on level ground.
? The registration (number) and plate is not issued or approved by the State or Territory Road
Transport Authority.
? A part of the motorbike or component fitted to it obscures any compulsory lighting or the number
plate. (See Note 3)
HOLY SHIT!!, Im violating just about all those things!! O well, thanks for that!
