Heavy clutch operation on Road King

I've just recently had carpal tunnel release surgery on my left wrist and before the surgery I considered my old Road King's clutch to be firm but manageable, I found that post operatively I was struggling to pull the clutch. Do-able but painful. Went and talked to Dave at K&M Motorcycles at Richmond (SA) and he suggested a lever be installed on the clutch operating gizmo in the side of the gearbox. I duly bought the parts for a modest price and put the bike up on the workstand in my shed to commence works. Because of the proximity of th RH exhaust to the boltheads it was obvious that the whole exhaust system had to come off. Because my old girl has 15 years on her I was reluctant to risk breaking a stud at home so I took the old girl back to K&M and the workshop fellas fixed the whole job yesterday in two and a half hours. Bit longer than the original guesstimate but they had a bit of strife with my clutch cable, the adjuster on which was full of rust and the cable gritty. I told the bloke I had never had to touch it and he reckoned he had surmised that. Funny, that!

The end result of this little operation is that I am now able, even with opsite tenderness, to operate the clutch with two fingers. Light as a feather and very happy with the result. K&M Motorcycles have been around for a bloody long time and while I have only bought parts from them in the past i am happy with both the work carried out and the price charged for that work. Their phone number is 08 8234 1090 if you're interested at all. That's my two bob's worth for today.
