Hey all just signed up and thought I would introduce myself. I recently purchased my first harley, a 2006 road king classic, and thought this would be a good place to get any info I need!

The bike has a few extras including vance an Hines exhaust, k and n air filter, PCIII tuner, cam (unsure of which cam yet) and a heap of others including forward controls, baggers brace and braided lines

so far I couldn't be happier with it! Apart from using (in my opinion) massive amounts of fuel, which brings me to my first question of is it normal to run the tank dry at 215kms? I found out the hard way that my fuel guage is wayyyy out haha. Just seems crazy to me that a 1580cc motor can use roughly 11/12l per 100kms? Am I wrong??

Any help is muchly appreciated and here's a few pics!

welcome , 215 from 17 litres seems way off , my 2012 Roady with similar mods gets 260 around town & 300+ on a long haul, but it really depends on how much ya twist the throttle, being sedate will get you better economy for sure, how do you like the forward controls? more ground clearance I would think, looks good as well don`t think I've seen it before on a Roady, nice. Im in Perth also s/o river, may catch you round.

    Cheers guys,
Gidgy-I'm still unsure about the forward controls! They're very comfy just sitting on it but when riding I sort of have to force my left leg a little in if you know what I mean, might just be me having to get used to them but! But id guess they'd be better for me than the boards being about 6ft 2. Yea if say the clearance would be better also but it means that my heel is the first thing to hit the road which isn't ideal hahah but saying that that's leaning pretty hard over
