It was a great day to meet many new faces, although it will take a few more times to remember everyone's names. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the ride & the opportunity to ride on some less familiar roads and take in new scenery.  One day I'm going to invest in a GoPro so that I can post video of our travels & experiences. With almost 20 people in attendance today, this was the biggest forum day ride we've had since I've been a forum member. Thanks to everyone who made the effort in coming along today. Cheers Tim for helping lead the way a few times & the impromptu stop at Sedan Hotel was probably a welcome rest for some, and a bonus that there were freshly cooked snags available to those who were a little peckish. I'm sure the local folk & publican enjoyed having us.

    Cheers Ash.

Some photos from today will be added to this post in the next day or so.

See you all hopefully on another ride sometime. ??

Couldn't agree more Ash, great choice of roads, good weather heaps of bikes, and some mad bastards riding 'em, what more could ya want.

The stop at Sedan was welcome - my arse was seizing up. Menglers Hill was a highlight - great pics posted.

Apologies I had to shoot through from Sedan and leave ya's early, but as you may be aware, I'd just purchased that bike a coupla weeks before and hardly ridden it. Unfortunately mechanical mayhem was calling the shots, and although I completed the ride, I had to do the last stretch as a lone nanna ride back into town with an oil soaked rear tyre.

I'd already had the bike in for a check-up, and had one bike shop tell me there's nothin wrong with it (naturally I wont be requiring their services again), yet a couple of ya's saw the obvious "heavy breathing" problem I'm having.....a problem which got a even worse on the run after pushing the bike a little.

I took the advice of a coupla wisened forumites on Sunday though, and dropped the bike into Blair at Bikeworks this morning for a diagnostic.....very helpful, very knowledgable, very reassuring that the bike is now in good hands!

Seems the problem might just be bordering on "worst case scenario". Just waiting to hear the results of the compression test, but I'm expecting top end rebuild will be required,

I expected a few problems when purchasing a 27 year old bike though, but it's a classic, so it will be repaired, it'll still be within budget including the cost of any repairs, I'll then have peace of mind that everything is AOK, and she'll be runnin a whole lot sweeter for the next ride than she was on the weekend!

    Good turn out.
    Great weather.
Meet up with new faces etc.
Hey Dave, i'm a little concerned about what " your arse was sizing up "?
Sorry, my mistake "seizing up" ...

Ash, next time don't forget the "refreshment" stop.
Thanks Ash, for organizing the run.

Glad you got back safely Ranger, may also explain your fuel consumption concerns?
Yeah, that first run to a beer stop was a long way!

Ralph, I understand the mistake mate, if ther's any sizing up, I'll be keeping my back to the wall.

So the low comp rear cylinder must be blowing the oil out the breather ? How much extra to do the bottom end as well ?

The comp test said it all , 2 thirds comp in rear cylinder . Bike is in good hands Ranger .
