Hi guys want to know how Inportant the adjustable push rods are when u change ur cams. Does it effect the heads, lifters or engine if u use standards push rods. Wht other things can we blame if ur engine is blown up on dyno and melt the piston in the engine. can u plz help me out here guys. Wht would u do in this situation.

PS I had done aprox 3500 km after the cams installation. would u blame the push rods or would u blame the operator who was on the dyno??????????

    plz let me know

    Regards

    I'd blame the engine builder.
Ignition should have appropriate rev limit set.
Could be insufficient spring pressure n you copped valve float.
That's engines for ya.Not the Dyno blokes fault

as far as i know rev limiter shuld be set on dyno. Spring and valve clearance as per specs. So where is a fault. and shuld it take bloody 3500 ks for the engine to blow.

Ok guys, Motor is fuel Injected and i don't want to disclose the name just yet who did the dyno because he said to me he was going through his insurance. I mentioned push rod because his mechanic blame the push rods (I dont know y). He said its happened because u dont have adjustable push rods. I think its a bullshit but thats wht he said to me. It wasn't pining. i took it for dyno because i changed the pipes so i thought I shuld take it for dyno and have it done.

    I have SE tuner.

To answer your original question, no you don't need adjustable PRs. Engine would have more than likely been running lean &/or over advanced to have melted the piston. - Rob

    Hi,

Its disappointing dreamer, if you still under warranty and are dealing with shop purchased i would try and get a resolution with the bike, it may take a little while but will be nothin when you get it back all fixed and you out cruising the roads man

    Thanks

Ta, still sticking with the heat theory but as to why it got that hot maybe the tune. And no std pushrods should not cause your motor to melt! Good luck and let us know if there is an outcome from the dealer.

Now Pauly I have gone through my insurance now to chase that tune guy up for me because he had my bike for last three and half months. He was going through his insurance but never gave me any supporting paper work that shows he is doing some thing but every time i rang him he always stalled me and excuse after excuse.

Wht you would've done mate if that was your bike.

    hi,

dreamer could you tell us what shop/dyno tuner this was please,

this is valuable information so people can assess where to take their bike for work or places to avoid, just like restaurant/night club, car, pub reviews etc

    thanks
