    Hi Guys

I recently put a Shinko whitewall rear tyre on my Sporty.

The whitewall was 'blue' on the new tyre (the dealer tells me that is how they are supplied) and he cleaned it off to a white mon fitting, but it is not as white as I would like ... it is a bit yellow in fact.

Any ideas on cleaning and bringing it up to a bright white whould be appreciated.

    Cheers

The yellow is the silcone coming out of the tyre .all tyres do it... The best is Jiff and a soapy steel wool pad.... I would do my shinko tyres every few months.

On the girls Sporty we use a thing called Gumption Multipurpose Cleaner Cream 500g  $5.36 you can get it from Woolworths, its used for cleaning stuff in the kitchen

Put the bike on the lift then we put a low round bucket filled with warm water under the wheel, put some Gumption on the scrubbing brush and clean away, they will come up white again, works a treat have been using this stuff for years.

No idea if its valid for bike tires but toothpaste used to be good for cleaning white stuff like that.

    I'm with rocky2010.

Have used gumption for years on white lettering on tyres to make them shine again. Used it recently on my white walls and they came up looking great.

+1 to Jiff and a steel wool pad.

Prepsol works very well, but you literally have to clean a small section at a time, and move to a different, clean part of the cloth. Otherwise you just end up smearing the dirt back on.

I've used all the other stuff and have found chux magic eraser is by far the easiest and quickest.
Just use it with water, give It a light rub and you're good to go. It's that easy.

Solvol soap seems to do a pretty good job as well.
