Reading the thread buying a new bike in NSW, another subject sprung to mind.

My mate and his wife both have Harleys and they have had a few and bought all of them from M & W in Brissie. I remember talking to them at times and they have said that sometimes when they have the bike in for a service or job they are given a loan bike. This has happened for an overnight job or during the day of the service. Usually a later model demo bike for instance. Only recently she had her Sporster in for a job and they lent her a bike so she was able to shoot out to the Airport to see her Dad off on his return plane trip. They do live about about 50 minutes north of Morgans, so I'm wondering if this is the reason.

Does this happen to anyone else or is it just a case of good dealer customer relations? I had my bike in the shop for a week, warranty issue (which was dealt will, no problems) but I wasn't offered anything like this. I had to go home 240km and return a week later by bus. I wouldn't have minded a Triumph Tiger for the week...TC

They do this for customer relations. I got Mainly Sportys from them (883 and 1200) and a couple of BMW road trails. You have to book well in advance, as the bike was my transport made it alot easier. Ended up riding a loan bike for nearly 6 weeks when the main shaft went on my 1200R after 16k. They got their bike back in better condition than I did. Had to take them to court to fix it, scratches, chips and gouges in it. Not happy Jan.

I rode around to Pt, Pirie with a mate to get his 109 serviced, the dealer there through us the keys to the ute and said "I'll give you a ring when it ready"
I took that as customer service

Good customer service keeps you coming back, its a shame that not all stealerships see this

when i book in for a service at M and W brissy they ask me if i want a loaner .if i say yes i got a 3 wekk wait for the service if i say no its about a week .
But they always offer it .
