I have the HS slip ons, look good, sound really good and flow well.

If you pay RRP they are not exactly cheap though, a full system only couple hungy more.

I have a set of 3" Slash slip ons, stage 1 tune and after market air filter. According to the screamin eagle app it adds 9hp and 13 ft lbs of torque. They look much better than stock pipes, sound much much better and the slight performance upgrade speaks for itself. The engine note is loud and enjoyable, but not loud enough to attract too much attention from the boys in blue.

I recommend the silencer. Still good and deep loud sound but not deafening.

Did you guys do the filter as well?? I'm about to put some V&H straight shots on and was going to do a K&N filter as well. Do you know if you need to tune these after its done

    Cheers

Iron, a cheap and very effective solution for your combo would be the X14IED's from Nightrider in the US. I just put them on my Iron 883, with opened up slip ons and a screaming eagle round high flow filter. They have richened up the mixture and improved the bike very nicely. Best of all they only cost $110 delivered. Cheaper than a tuner, not as good, but very effective and good value for money. Yes, there are the nay sayers about these things who say a tuner is the only way to go, but I took the punt and could not be happier. TC

    Still undecided about the tuner.

Installed the V&H straight shot slip ons yesterday and went for a stage 1 Screaming Eagle air filter kit. Took it for a spin and definitely noticed a difference in throttle response and power of the bike compared to the stock version.
The pipes are a tad loud for suburban Adelaide but love it and would like to keep the sound but I think I need to install the quiet baffles to keep the neighbours and the cops happy. Was happy with my investment of $530.
The bike when hot idles at about 990-1020 not sure if this is about right or not. Due to get a service in the next week hopefully they can advise me if this is okay. Hopefully will have a tuner by then when I decide which way to go with this.

Okay had a minor service done today at Adelaide Bike Works and the guys down there are really good and definitely recommend them if your in Adelaide.

Fitted the V&H straight shot slip on mufflers and Screaming Eagle Stage 1 Air filter kit last week and Flashed the bike today with my FP3. It was so easy to do and looking forward to using the other applications in it.

Yep that's the one. There is a few reviews getting around on You tube at the moment and also on the V&H website.

Once the the firmware was updated it took as little as 5 mins to flash the bike. There is also other features in it as well which would be handy to use. As a newbie to this stuff it was pretty simple to use.

Took the bike for a ride this morning and definitely noticed a big difference

Normally they sell for around the $450 + mark but I happen to be on the evilbay looking for something else and there was a guy who had bought one for his bike but the plug didn't fit due to it being a earlier model.

So i watched the sale until it finished then I contacted him direct and ended up getting it landed for $360. Its brand new and was never paired with another bike. The thing is that if you get one it can only be paired to one bikes Vin number but it can be used to check diagnostics on other bikes but you cant flash another bike once its been linked to yours.

Its all done on your smartphone, there is a App you download at either apple or Android store for free. You can also have it hooked up while you ride and have the phone mounted on your bars and read it while its active, its all connected by bluetooth.

I have the FP3 on my heritage and love it. No previous experience with tuners so will not make any comparisons. All I can say is it was easy to setup and did exactly what I wanted.got rid of decel pop and the bike runs perfectly with my straight shots and K & N filter. Did the auto tune and ran even better. I bought mine from fuel motto delivered for around $350 usd. I have no desire to do any further engine upgrades so it filled my needs perfectly.
