Hi All,
Looking at getting comprehensive insurance for the Fatboy 2008, I bought the bike through my business (bike is in the business name - for tax purposes etc) and noticed that in some insurance companies like Shannons and InsureMyRide they don't insure for business purpose bikes. Of course at least 30% will be used for pleasure . Can anyone provide an insurer that does this type of insurance at a reasonable rate? I got a quote from NRMA for $1,208.34. Is this a reasonable rate as I have no other claims.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Hi ShogunRob,
Thank you, do you know someone that I could deal with there, is this who you use?
Cheers
Will do, thank you.
Thanks to all that replied, I did get a quote from W QBE and It came in at $400.00 less that NRMA.
Fantastic result.
Hi SuperGlide,
I had a look at them but the moment you mention Business - it's the end of the line, same with Shannons.
I can claim it back and will...
You havn't seen me on the road for the simple reason that I am currently un-insured and like everyone else we are trying to save so we have more $ to spend on bling and the finer things that we like to add. As soon as I am up and running I will make a special effort to catch up and go for a spin.
all good things come to those that are patient, one wise man once said to me.
Try Swann insurance for an 09 fatbob i was quoted $637.00 with full comprehensive, unlimited kms ,agreed value, rating 1, $3000 cover for leathers etc $500 for helmet.......... western QBE was $620 plus $25 start up fee, comprehensive, can only ride up to 8000 kms a year, market value, $2000 cover for leathers etc excess $300
with bike in bussiness name you will now need to pay fringe benifits tax approx 50%, you should of rego the bike in your name and kept a log book
thanks for that extra info JD, it may come in handy for me aswell 1 day, i am going to claim 50% through my bussiness, so i should get a bit of gst back and some of the running costs, but i leave it all up to my accountant
