    Hi All,

Looking at getting comprehensive insurance for the Fatboy 2008, I bought the bike through my business (bike is in the business name - for tax purposes etc) and noticed that in some insurance companies like Shannons and InsureMyRide they don't insure for business purpose bikes. Of course at least 30% will be used for pleasure . Can anyone provide an insurer that does this type of insurance at a reasonable rate? I got a quote from NRMA for $1,208.34. Is this a reasonable rate as I have no other claims.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

fat-boy ...I use QBE and they paid up quickly when I got hit by a car earlier this year .. so at this stage I am happy with them and the premium I pay

it may be a different story for you given that it is under the business name ..may save dollars in one area but have to pay them back in another area

Thanks to all that replied, I did get a quote from W QBE and It came in at $400.00 less that NRMA.

    Fantastic result.

    Cheers.

I use the E-insurance thing, insure my ride. But not biz, just personal.
The fine print is not the best, and the values/terms are not the best.
But all round it seems pretty decent and I got full cover for under $600.00

Compared to say a QBE that could get down to around a grand at very best. But they offer new for old replacement for 2 yrs and so on.

    Hi SuperGlide,

I had a look at them but the moment you mention Business - it's the end of the line, same with Shannons.

    Cheers.

Yeah because they're cheap but base their risk assessments on low klm's etc and non-peak time commuting, bla bla bla. Just guessing.

Can't you just insure the fucker and then claim back against your tax or woteva your trying to do anyway?

More importantly, why have'nt I seen you on the road yet!

I can claim it back and will...

You havn't seen me on the road for the simple reason that I am currently un-insured and like everyone else we are trying to save so we have more $ to spend on bling and the finer things that we like to add. As soon as I am up and running I will make a special effort to catch up and go for a spin.

all good things come to those that are patient, one wise man once said to me.

I used Insure my Ride, admittedly it is market value, not agreed, but am paying under $500 for full comprehnsive, get on their website and get a free quote off them, so you can compare it with other quotes, i have an 06 fatboy bought from new, i compared this quote to what Swann was offering and saved about $100, depends what you are going to be happy with, will shop around when it is due again, anyway if you haven't insured it yet, all the best, you need to be happy with the choice you make.
