Not happy with the OEM air ride on my 2012 Roady  been looking at progressive  rear shocks but so many variations 412, 430, 444, & 940 all different  price ranges & adjustablity, so confusing! my bike has lowering blocks on atm so if I buy lowered shocks( was thinking 1: lower) I can do away with lowering blocks , I also seen on the 940 ultra touring set, that they claim the standard 13" with the look of a 12" shock, something about the secondary compensator spring, can anyone that has used these give some insight? or what you have used on your touring? many thanks in advance Rod

    What is your budget?

You generally sacrifice ride quality when you lower. I've got about 30,000km on my Legends and cannot complain at all. When I get a tourer it will also get a set.

This is on a Dyna not on a touring bike but I'm a heavy rider doing a lot of miles.

Dump the airshocks. I have HD pREMIUm shocks, thet are a spring shock with a remote compression adjuster. I have done nearly 40,000klm on them touring fully loaded, solo, on all types of road and surfaces. They are not perfect but a million times better than std, believe they cost me $450?

well I removed the  oem air shocks & fitted progressive  444 shocks I Have`nt tried it loaded up yet but its def stiffer maybe a little too stiff! I also took off the lowering blocks ,it has made the stearing much more responcive the big 21' on the front & dumped 2' in the rear was too much ,so it is def an improvement.
