    Hey guys,

i dont usualy post post too much but I'm constantly reading the forum.

Anyway, I was asked by Morgan and Wacker Harley Davidson Brisbane to be apart of an ad campaign that they are running.  It's called "our family" and is to try and get the idea across to different people from all sorts of walks of life. So over the last few months and a few more to come they are releasing a photo set and story of each person who was asked to be apart of this awesome idea.

Its well worth a read and a squiz to check out the bikes!

At the moment I'm their story!

So head over to the website and check out my story and my 2013 fxst!

Hopefully a few of you will check it out!

    Heres the link.

Other then being in the ad I am in no way connected or employed by the shop or team Moto group, just a mad keen bike rider!

    cheers,

    josh.

    Hey Josh,

Just thought I'd let you know I'm in my 50's and ride my harley to work every day.. yes, even in the rain!!!!  Some afternoons I take the long way home and ride 150 kms even though I live 25km from work.

Life (and riding) doesn't stop at 50 my friend.

Yeah good read Josh, glad you're alright and that you have such a good partner who wants to see you whole again, you are truely lucky.  Like you I love the Softtail Standard but I can't afford one just yet, one day soon I hope.  Like Peter (I'm in my late 40's) I ride my Harley every day and in fact I personally don't even own a car, my wife does but she needs it for work herself so I ride no mater what the weather is doing and I also take the long way home at times to give myself a pick me up if I feel drained from work.

Life (and riding) doesn't stop at 50 my friend

I will go one further and say life begins around that age ( once the kids become independent)

Good read Josh, I to am 50 and ride mine every possible chance I get.
Being an interstate truck driver, I only get one day off per week and that's spent riding! Rain hail or shine!
My wife identified very early on in our marriage that I was at my happiest when we had a bike!
Hasn't always been a Harley, but now we've got one I cant see us without one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    Awesome dude, enjoy the ride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Good read mate, glad the prang didn't spook you from riding again. New bike looks hot too.

I'm pretty sure Josh wasn't tarring all 50 year old harley owners with the same brush, merely pointing out that he didn't want to be in 'that' group of blokes who buy the Harley and all the HD brand gear when they hit their 50's, and only ride once every couple of months - IF the weather is nice. You know those blokes.

    Good read Josh
Over 50 means my girls are adults and not dependent. I reckon I've done more Kay's in the 5 years than I've done in the last 20, Even though I bought my first New Harley in 1984. Bought the custom softail evo when they came out, but my current 08 custom softail is by far the best bike I've had. It's a daily rider and never missed a beat.

Haha wow! I didn't realised id stir the pot that much with my "50s" comment! It's all good though boys. You lot sound like me in the the sense that we buy bikes to ride them hard like they should be! Don't get my wrong, I'm not a total idiot on the Harley and I'm not destroying it by not taking care of it. But I'll ride it in the rain and I'm more then happy to hose it off with the pressure washer it. I can't stand talking to people about their bikes and hearing how they "wash" them by wiping it over with a microfiber cloth. Fuck that! I hose the shit out of mine. I do love some of the reactions though when I tell people like that, that ill pressure wash mine.

I'm glad to hear the replies from you guys about it all! Ive never had to write something like that about myself before.
I got a text from a buddy of mine from Wackers the other day saying he had a bloke in who had read my story and wanted a lepera seat for his Softail like mine, made me feel famous! Haha.

It's all good Josh, you will change your attitude as you get older, you will care less what other people do and think and you will worry more about what you want to do. You will be happy to talk to someone/anyone with similar interest as you regardless if he rides once a month or everyday, cleans his bike with a pressure washer or a microfiber cloth. It will make no difference to you and as long everyone is happy, its all good.
Josh are you planning on any other mods?

Hey Josh, what does she run like when you're not given her a handful?  Reason I want to know is I love to cruise at low rpm, usually short shift and generally just cruise around at low rpm's . However there are times I'm in a drag racing mood and that's where I want some real grunt.  Basically what I'm saying I'm looking for a set up where I can have the best of both worlds as much as possible and that is way I want to hear peoples opinion on their set up.

The 103 with 204 cams with the high comp pistons are a great combo and I can't complain at all. Pulls like a freight train now. It's really opened it all up and pulls so hard. You can cruise around at city speeds or smash it out on the highway. Stop light to stop light it's amazing fun and I haven't regretted it!

Someone said Life begins at 50.Definitely don't believe that.
You just keep on Keeping on.
I ride every day and Rock on, but I'll never ever rock on like I did when I was young.
