Have them fitted on my 08 Fatty, Yes they are a great improvement from the standard shocks. Adjustable as well for the double up and additional swag and gear when needed.I have had no problem with them.

thanks Blue, did you go with the Remote Adjustable Preload or the standard Progressive shocks. There is around $250 difference.

Hi all...Ive had the RAP for a few years now. They are a much better shocks than the stock shocks in every aspect. However,The Adjustable dial on mine has seized and I have a clunk sound in mine now.

I got a mate who lent me his deluxe for awhile. It has the 422s without adjuster on iit and I could not believe how smooth it is. Found myself looking for bumps to try and feel a jar. Easily the best shocks I have rode with.

I was that impressed that I bought a set for my softy. These ones have the adjuster but I have not put em on yet.

I got em cheap second hand off a mate.
Adjuster on one shock only, had me wondering the same thing to be honest, maybe someone can enlighten us both

Hi all...One shock is a soft shock the other is the hard shock[adjustable] on the RAP.

Berms...Yes they lessen the jarring on the spine. Also,You can adjust the hight of the rear end.Slam it down low or raise it real high.

fitted mine up and they stiff as a fucking board. So i looked on the yank forums and it seems they get sent out with the heavy duty springs for 2 up riding or if ya a big fat cunt. I am spewing.

Why would they not send them out with standard springs and get people to order the heavy duty ones if needed??. Please tell me where the fuck it says anything about this on the wedsite.

I weigh 90 kgs and my softy is a single seat semi custom so at this stage it seems they are fucking useless.

I went with YSS shocks that are made in Aus and he makes them to suit your weight and what sort of ride you are looking for. I paid around the same money but these are far superior to the standard Harley shocks. I think a few members on here have now used them and the feedback has all been positive, link below.

Hi guys , I have the 422`s with R.A.P. on my 08 Softail and find them to be far better than stock ... not really able to say a certain percentage but definitely better .

Got mine through M & M out of Ohio ... $620 + $280 for front Mono tube cartridges + $140 for shipping ... to be fair I got mine when the Aussie Dollar was in far better shape than what it is now , Bloody Economy , Lol .

Not sure if it was because M & M know their shit or not but they asked me before buying if I wanted the heavier springs and considering I am of the slightly LARGER variety of the male species I said Yes Please .

Had mine lowered by about 1" maybe a little more but definitely not slammed and still better ride than stock ... I reckon I would do just as much 2 up riding as solo and haven`t bottomed out yet ... I got them set at a fairly mid to high stiffness due to my size and in fact have not even used the R.A.P. as yet ... although there is a small reason for that ... the Adjuster that goes around the end of the R.A.P. only has one of those tiny little screws that holds it on and when the guys hooked it all up for me I don`t think they used Harley Riders best friend ... LOCTITE ... and of course it came off at some point .

As it still feels firm I have been pretty slack at getting a replacement but will have to get my act together and do something soon .

As a last thought for that much money would it be worth looking at some of the Air Shocks like Shotgun or Legends ... both have there Pros & Cons from all the research ... from everything I have read the Shotguns would be my choice ... Far cheaper than all the rest , seem like a brilliant and simple idea ... some have had issues with the reservoirs from what I have read but the guy who runs the company is really good to deal with ... so the story goes ... would be nice if there was a Aussie distributer though , would make things easier .

Anyhow just my 2 Bobs worth ... cheers guys .

good to hear you are happy with them but my main concern with them was the adjustable pre load only works on one shock. I don't see how you can get a balanced ride from that, but hey if you are happy with them that's all that counts.

As the two shocks are right next to each other on a softy maybe it makes stuff all difference. However I agree it would be out of balance if the shocks were wide apart.

Hi all...The RAP works very well. There are directions on how to set the shocks up to get the best out of them. They work much better than 15% from the stockers.Set up wrong,They work ordinary.
