Hi guys, just thought I would share this as it has been working pretty well! I am currently brassing out my bike, I started adding brass bits and then wanted to do something about the bolts over the bike. I had taken a few out and sprayed them with brass paint, they looked OK but not quite authentic. So I got online and searched electroplating I found a little bit of info and also a guy on  AUS HD riders forum who had done it a while ago. Anyway this is the process! 1. Battery charger car battery is better as it puts out more amps. 2. Vinegar in a glass bowl or similar. 3. brass or what you want to coat with to + terminal and bolt or whatever you want plated to - terminal. check every 20 mins -half hour and clean. more times you do it better the coating! Submerse in vinegar and wait! Bushido

More info and photos would be great. Are you placing a piece of brass in the solution to create and anode of brass which electroplates the bolt or whatever you want plated.

Sorry for the pic guys! Obviously the one on the left is to be done the 2 on the right have had a couple of baths 1/2 hour each time! So you connect the brass or copper(plating material) to positive terminal and bolt to be plated to neg, submerse in vinegar and connect battery! make sure they don't touch the bolt will turn black and get a build up of black gunk on it. polish back & repeat the more times you do it the better the coating! Cheers Bushido

An old fella was explaining a similar way (battery charger and immersion) to get rust off. Will chase up the details.
