hi all, ive avoided HD for ages, but my thirst for customising has brought me here...

im torn on a purchase though... 1999 heritage springer for $17k, 30k kms, 2001 heritage 1450 springer, lots of chrome, $22k, 22k kms, or go for a 1690cc deluxe for about $24k?

not quite sure about the trade offs.. anotyher option would be a heritage, 1690cc, for $22k-$23k...

i like the springers but cant find one thats bigger than 1450cc... i was thinking of buying the deluxe and fitting a springer front end perhaps...

and im not really sure what the real difference between a heritage and a deluxe is...is it seat height and fenders?..

basically i want to customise the bike..so whatever platform would give me options and cruising performance...the horses isnt really a biggie, but i figure that if it has more cubes, its running cooler, newer, and under less stress overall..

hoping for some advice, as importing seems to be giving me about the same costs when all is taken into account..give or take $1k-$2k...

Welcome aboard Tim. I can appreciate the springers but I'd go the deluxe, just a personal choice. I believe the heritage is almost the same as deluxe, just with bags, screen and sissy bar.

Welcome, it really comes down to personal choice. Buy the bike you like the best and can afford.
