So I need a little help to understand what the right side engine cover where the timer cover is called and what is behind it.

I can hear something rattling in there and can feel something that feels like a rock when I put my hand inside it from the bottom. I'm thinking of opening it up, but I cant find any information about what is actually behind it, what it is called and also anything I should be concerned about.

I've attached a picture to make it clear what I'm talking about

how many klms has the bike have on her, i would not pull that cover off without buying a factory manual 1st , because you have to come in thru the top rocker boxes & pushrods 1st

+1 ...Buy a friggin manual or you will end up with a very expensive paperweight.

It's been 3000 km. yeah I thought it would be pretty bad to have that opened up. It's technically still under warranty until next year. Probably worth while taking it into the Harley store?

only done 300km and u have a rattle in part of the engine and u wonder if you should take it in???? until the warranty goes out I would take it to them for this FOR SURE... plus, if you go tinkering on the bike yourself your warranty might be void then you really are up shit creek...

I'm puzzled about how you get your hand in there. As far as I know, it's sealed with a gasket.

Do you mean the cover to the rear of it, cos that's a cover for the sprocket, and I guess a rock or something could get in there.....
