I'm just wondering what year model night train came with a solid polished rear wheel? My train is an import and I'm lead to belive with was built end of 07 and plated in 08 in the states, imported to Aus in 2011 however all the write ups of the night train have a black wheel on the rear? any help would be great to confirm this.

Hey Dude,

There are a few Night Trains getting around with non factory fitted wheels. The black wheel is OEM factory fitted.

If you have a look at the OEM rims on the FXSTC that's what you most likely have. The front wheel is only mildly different but defiantly an upgrade.

ok Cheers for that, I've seen quite a few trains getting around with the solid rear wheel and didn't know if it was factory or not.

ok, I'm thinking mine would have to be 2007 onwards, as it has a six speed gearbox and 1590 engine.

I looked over every sticker/plate I could find on the bike and have this info.

Manufactured date: 07 / 07 on the US build sticker.

Harley Davidson Softail 01/2008 on the import Compliance Sticker.

There are other emission stickers on the frame that state "This 2008 motorcycle complies with..."

So from this info I gather that the Bike was built in July 2007 but first Registered in Jan 2008 and built as a 2008 model bike from HD.

Would this be correct?

You will find many threads on "what year is my bike"
the model year starts mid way through the previous year, so as your stickers states, 07-07 but it is an 08 model.

Mine is 07/07 and solid wheel. standard from new.

So Russ, that would make it an 08 train wouldn't it. July being the change over to the 08 model for the coming year?
