O2 Sensors, do I need em?

Just installed a new exhaust (RSD Slant 2 into 1) and one of the O2 sensors does not quite reach, so for not I have left the hole plugged (it came with bungs) and it looks MUCH nicer without it in. My question as in the subject is, do I need them in at all? I have had a look around and from the info knocking about it doers not look like it, I have an RSD Turbine aircleaner on thebike and have tuned it with a SEPST, my hope is that I can just remap for the new pipes and forget about the sensors.

Thought I would ask the collective knowledgebase if this is going to be an issue or just a bad idea..

    Thanks for teh help!

It should be ok.Just means it won't compensate for different altitudes etc etc.
So just make sure your tune is pretty good

Cool! have taken the sec on done off, looks much better, will keep an eye on the tune! Will also try to do a new smart tune this week for the new 2 into 1 pipes.

Ando is right, if you remove/disable the 02 sensors, you could damage somthing, unless the ECM is in open loop. Your ECM is most likely in closed loop. - Rob

Thanks a Rob and Ando, I have remapped he ECM so that all values are below 14.6 which should put it into an open loop, will take her for a ride today and see how she behaves!
