Freedom radius exhaust 2-2

This pipe looks the same as the Vance and Hines big radius 2-2 exhaust, which I already have but not fitted to my bike because its too bloody loud. Even tried expensive baffles from the USA which had min effect.

The freedom version of these pipes' diametres are stepped three times and they also have a quiet baffle option.

Has anyone got them or heard them in action?  The only helpful comment I could find on hdforums.com was that one bloke sold his as he thought they were too quiet - something a little quieter is what I'm after.

No idea about the 2-2 but I have had the Freedom 2-1 American Outlaw and now have the Freedom 2-1 Union pipe both have have a great sound, loud when you give it some throttle but not too bad when you ride easier.

Using a test meter (phone app, very scientific!) standing at a 45 degrees back about 2m and revs around 2000 it was show 102 decibels which is over the 96 allowable for my bike but I haven't received any unwanted attention as yet.

The problem is you will struggle to find any after market pipe that will meet your requirements as they are all louder than standard pipes in my experience even with quiet baffles.

Thanks ch. I don't want the bike factory quiet or as loud as the v&h big radius pipes. Somewhere in the middle would strike a happy medium for me.

The 2-1 outlaw high if that's the same as yours is a nice different looking pipe with good clearance for cornering too

I have them fitted to both my dyna and softtail.they are loud but not overly loud people will here you for sure! Must say they look better than vance and hines with the one piece heat shield.

    Thanks all.

Snakeman, are they loud enough to attract police attention or wake up neighbours in start up at 6am? The v&h big radius certainly were.  Also, do you have the quiet baffle option fitted? Where are you located? Have you compared the sound/loudness of your freedom radius pipes compared to the v&h version?

Sorry for all the questions but I'd hate to spend $700 on pipes that don't suit my circumstances.

Smutley, sorry but the v&h big radius are 2-2 both on the right side. I'll probably offload them sooner or later as doing no good to anyone sitting in my garage collecting dust.

Fatbat i live in a country town in southern nsw.the pipes are lound enough to wake up neighbours .ive never had trouble with police  i back the bike off if i see them.i havent compared them to v&h big radius.i would suggest that you might be better off looking at s@s slipons witch will not be as loud and you will still get a nice sound.
