Hi Guys hoping you can help us out re: Hyper Charger #9997 currently installed on a HD 2005 FLSTN (Carby)
have had this bike last 6mths or so & never really paid much attention to the HyperCharger operating system until now and believe it is not operating the way it should be. Given i have never owned a HD with a Hyper charger installed could you please advise if the following is normal or i have an issue
Prior to start up the butterflys are fully open.
Upon startup buterflys close to about 97-99% and flutter for a couple of minutes before beling stable at around 98% closed.
If you slowing rev motor up butterflys are staying closed if anything want to shut completely.
If you give the motor a good rev the butterflys will only open 50% then shut completley upon release of thottle.

I would asume that as revs increase the butterflys should increase their opening and stay open but hey what would i know.

sounds like it has an air leak in the vacuum hose that goes to the butterfly valve.

The way it seems to be operating is at full vacum or cruze the butterflys close. Even hooking up another vac hose does the same thing.

Hyperchargers are fine but the open/close is a gimmick. I have mine permanently open

They say they do but this bike still has stock pipes etc so really dont know if it makes a difference. If in doubt i just open the throttle wide open!
