A MATE HAS AN 80 FXE WITH OPEN 3" BELT AND HAS AN ELECTRIC STARTER FITTED CALLED THE "ELECTRIC LEG".
ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS UNIT AS HIS SOLENOID COOKED AND WE NEED ONE. I THINK MOTOR IS A MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC
it could be just a later model Harley starter fitted up , i used a company 3'' open belt electric starter system on a Shovel stroker but i can't remember there name off hand as it was before xmas + i broke my arm & still in a bit of pain & painkillers & it killed my memory a bit , but them models don't fall far for the tree
HAVE FOUND A GUY IN PERTH WHO IS CUSTOM BIKE AUTO LEKKIE WHO IS HAVING A LOOK AT IT. HE DOE'S ALL BIKE MAKES AND HAS WORKED ON BIG BLOCK CHOPPERS ( SHOW BIKES) ETC.
WE WAIT AND SEE

G'Day wooduck,
Glad it got fixed, just for general info I'll put this mob in here,
www.techcycle.com , it's the only company I can think of that did that sort of stuff.
Cheers,
Cris.
broken solenoid wire, TECH PRODUCTS is the make..........,finally found manufactuer
the one we had here was that brand name it was on a 93 c.ci shovel stroker, the starter backing main support plate that holds up the starter had crack badly i vee it out & welded her back up , i had to make a strong support bracket for the right hand side as it had to much weight overhang thats whjat cracked it , i rang the company up & they did supply a new mounting plate , for now the old one is still working
apparently support bracket's crack on every one, this is his second and I spotted a crack when we fiitted repaired motor, luckily had old bracket welded up so's used that and got new one booked in for repair, must be extreme inertia when motor flick's on but billet IS easycrack stuff
i have i new starter support plate from this company there's no improvement over the old one's because its cnc machined , the corners where its milled out are too sharp & thats where the crack starts , but you must make a very strong right hand support bracket , they do not supply one as to many different custom bike models , the one i repaired & welded & made a strong support bracket is still working & thats on a 93 c.i. Shovel stroker, the other thing is make sure the engine is tuned proper or it will kick back on the starter & stress it out even more
