Has any one had any thing to do with air hawk seat covers. Are they worth the money or is there a better option out there as i am looking for more comfort on long rides for me and the wife. Any info or feed back would greatly be appreciated.

    Hey aj74

a lot of guys swear by them and use them religiously on long rides , I purchased one for the wife and she didn't like it all , I ended up purchasing a custom seat through sick saddles in the us and added gel , I would invest the money in a custom seat with gel or memory foam but that's just my thoughts as I said a lot of guys love them , maybe just not for me

Ive not long bought one. It's the air hawk 2 in med size.

Tried it out for an hour and seemed good but an hour isn't long enough to assess its merits.
Going on a 2,000+ km ride next week which will be a good test.

I used one temporarily on a trip back from Perth to Canberra and hated it. Must admit the service was fantastic, fortunately they have a 60 day money back policy. After using it for a day and a half on my way back, playing with the inflation level, I decided to continue the rest of the trip without it. I did not like it at all. For those of you not familiar with them they are an inflatable pad that goes on your seat. It has a series of air cells that are all linked. It is supposed to stop you getting a numb butt on long rides, reduce back pain and allow air to flow through the mesh sides to reduce heat build up. There are a lot of people that have bought them and written wonderful testomonials about them but I did not like it at all. When you brake you roll forward, when you accelerate you roll back on it, plus it was hot, and not to mention the pain in the gonads... That right! when you sit on it, the air moves to the place of least resistance which happens to be right between your legs and behind your butt. However, go over some big bumps and the air mainly rushes to the front and upper cuts you right in the nuts.

For me a mustang seat beats it hands down.

I used mine on ride to Broken Hill a couple years back, and it was Ok. Just adjust while sitting / riding. They need to be almost ( what looks like ) Flat / deflated.

Hi Sprocket, Have not seen you around for a while.

I've used one on my FLHT for a couple of years finding it comfortable.  Took a while to figure out the best setting.  It's just what you get used to and on what seat it goes on.
