Remove Baffles

    Hi Bikers

I have a set of Vance Hines short shots on my 2000 Heritage Softail.

I want to remove the baffles (because I love loud noise bikes)

    Can I just remove 1?

Will removing the baffles affect my bike?

Can you replace them with louder baffles?

And if it doesnt affect the bike, how do you remove them?

Any help or suggestions would be great.

    Cheers.

Removing one would have to cause all kinds of fucked-up-ness. So take them both out, loppypop the fuckers and set to suit. Don't forget to book in for a hearing test coz you are obviously deaf and put a little (lot of) money away each week for the fines.

It's not a little noise, it's a lot of noise. When people go around bursting people's eardrums "normals" get their back up and start lodging complaints and demanding action against all Harley riders. Then the government over reacts and they launch a blitz on all our pipes.
    Go argue with the politicians.

I didn't think they had baffles in for starters. I hope you've got deep pockets for all the fines you are about to receive. I ditched my short shots not long after I bought my bike. Me thinks someone is trying to get a rise here, maybe it's a reincarnation of HG?

Pull em out. With v&h pipes it's usually a case of removing the heat shields and unscrewing the bolts that hold the baffles in.

Dont worry about what the others say about the noise and fines. And don't listen to anybody that tells you you will lose even more back pressure and low down response on an exhaust that already lacks back pressure. People telling you things obviously don't know anything.

    Good luck

    No worries Fellas.

Don't give a fuck about the fines or personal concerns about the health of my hearing levels.

Was just after some advise and mechanical knowledge regarding the relevent discussion.

From reviewing all mechanical feedback, it sound like it could be quite a technical process as I will loose back pressure and create excessive heat. Unless I replaces the original baffles with after market baffles that have been specifically designed for load noise with minimal back pressure disturbance.

    Thanks for the advise.

    Cheers.
