Hi all, I realise there are seveal threads on this.  Has anyone noticed any significant temp drop by doing so?  Thanks

    My two cents worth....

I have not seen any proof that justifies removing the catalytic converter and all of the claims made are subjective and not backed up by measurements.

I removed the catalytic converter on my 2012 StreetGlide and noticed no difference at all; the bike still ran hot, performed the same and the fuel economy didn't change so it was three hours work for nothing.

I will not be doing it on my 2014 Ultra

Thought this might open up a can of worms and it looks as though it has.

Debate and opinions are a good thing I say, however, as an engineer I like to see evidence to support claims made and so far no one has posted any data detailing the before and after temperatures, before and after fuel economy readings, db readings of the exhaust before and after and a before and after dyno reading....is all I am saying. I am not trying to beat anyone up, I just haven't seen and facts to back up the claims that's all.

And yes, catalytic converters are not legally required in Australia and I have aTTS.

For those that want to remove the catalytic converter, the photos below show what it looks like (taken when I removed the catalytic converter from my 2012 StreetGlide)

Dont know about heat issue as its always fuckin hot down here in Riverina, but range went from average 370klm to 420 klm on my 09S/G  same fuel no choice down here, 98 octane caltex .   .Baffles massaged + no cat = better noise ,better acceleration, better economy.

    Hi

I replaced my standard headers on my 2011 Ultra with V&H dresser duals, supposed to increase horse power, torque and decrease temperature.

No scientific proof but performance feels better, seems to be a lot less heat and fuel economy marginally improved.

Heat was the main issue I was trying to address

    Regards Wayne
