RPM at 100 km

    Hi,

Does anybody know as an estimate, what the RPM would be for these scenarios below?

96ci stage 1 with oem pulleys?

103ci stage 1 with oem pulleys?

I have googled for half an hour and I have come up empty handed.

I can only asume my cams are stock and on my 96 cube it is showing 2200 RPM at 100 km.  I am trying to determine if my bike has had the 103 kit installed.

    Thank you in advance.

I might be way off here if I'm wrong someone please put me straight,
why would changing a cam change your RPM @ 100Kph,
I thought changing Cams would only change where your peak torque is at RPM,
None of the gears have changed, the final drive hasn't changed, so why would the RPM at 100Kph change?

    correct allide.
the only things that will change rpm at a set speed are gear ratios, that includes transmission, primary drives, front and rear pulley and over all tire diameter

    edit

    or clutch slip

You,re not way off Allde , cams or capacity can,t change revs at a certain speed , only gearing .

You need a slide rule and compass.divide your ports equal circumference by the amount of spokes on the front wheel.
Then, count how many spark plugs you have, take that number(should be the squared root of 4?)then multiply that with the amount of spokes on the rear wheel, then, rub a piece of bacon on ya nuts n go play with a pitbull.
Farkin glad I found this place.ARRRRGGGHHHH,nothin like the internut huh?gahagahagaha

I believe 6th gear is only good for 120+KPH.
as we are the lucky country, our speed limit is 110.
75MPH (120KPH) on freeways in the States or 85 MPH (136KPH) on the highways (interstates) so the high gear is able to be used properly.

my 88TC now a 103 has a different rev range now since the rebuild.

I found cruising at 100 I could easily ride in 6th. I never really thought about damaging the box at that RPM.

Is there any chance of damaging the tranny similar to an overdrive gear?

I know Pauly, its a bizarre thing to contemplate. This bloke in the US paid $6000.00 to a mechanic to build his engine after it had shit itself and they are saying the cause of the problem was the bike laboring. I don't believe it otherwise we would have heaps of guys in Australia having these problems and I haven't heard of anyone having any issues.

Most of the Twin cams have a 32 front and a 66 rear pulley. A popular swap is a 31 or even 30 front and a 68 or 70 rear which gives better accelaration.
