I'm in the market for a cam for my 2013 103ci Deluxe, I've already V&H staggered pipes, Stage 1 intake and SEST.

Been looking at the SE204 specs but havent managed to find much in the way of how..

    • fuel economy is effected
    • if reliability or maintanance suffers
    • If I can use the stock push rods & if so how tappet noise compares to the stock cam

I want good low to mid torque but dont want it faiding away to much up top.  Was also looking at the Andrews 57H, read where people are saying the SE203 is a simular cam... so whats the better of the two?

Would also like to hear some performance feedback on each cam from people thats actually ran either on a factory 103ci

Also any reccomendations for a great dyno tuner in or around Melbourne please?

    Thanks

Last week I had Crane Rocket 574 cams put into my 2012 Deluxe 103 & also put in the Feuling 7074 oil pump kit & Andrews adjustable push rods.

The only other changes from stock are V&H Big shot staggereds, air filter, oil cooler & SE SERT Pro tuner.

The cams etc & dyno tune work was done by Thundertech in Perth & I could not be happier with this combo as it  has gone from 71.25 hp & 84.43 torque to 90.70hp & 97.28 torque & there is no excessive valve train noise & the bike rides awesome so whilst it does not help with your original question perhaps it adds another choice of cam to the mix.

Not sure as yet but I refueled up on Monday & reset the trip so I will post up the kms & litres used when I refuel next but been riding it all week & it seems to be ok but I don't really care if it uses more fuel because the thing just goes & sounds friggen awesome.

won't be riding where its more than 230km between pubs, I can live with that.. So hows the bike running now you've obviously given the cam time to settle... insects on the teeth?

PB when I do the calcs I did not think it was to bad.

    Litres per 100 = 7.56
    Kms per litre = 13.23
    Imp MPG = 37.37

What milage do they do when they are stock ?

Friggen hell I have done the same calc for my 347ci blown XP.

    Litres per 100 = 40.63
    Kms per litre = 2.46
    Imp MPG = 6.95

    I have SE204 cams + D&D full 2-1 system + SE breather + power vision tuner, fitted to my 2012 Dyna 103".

    Here's my take:
No question about warranty (being SE product)

Slightly lumpy idle - sounds great - but no unwanted noises or rattles.

6.5L/100km fully laden with pillion, saddle bags and top box.
    Tuned by Lushy (SA)
98Hp, can't remember the tq figure.
Awesome power/pull right where I want it - lower in the rpm range. I don't go over 5000rpm anyway, there is no need.

Yeah ok interesting comparison I need to get it out for long run to see if it improves but I will look at 3 or 4 tanks with city commuting & open road cruising.

I have SE 257 in my what used to be TC88, now a 103.
    Two up, 200kg + 15Kg bag
I got 275K's and filled up with 16.4L at the next chance

the cams are (as advertised) good for high end apparently, I am very happy with performance.

Yep, A couple of weekends Ando installed andrews 57h cams, s&s quicky pushrods, new inner cam bearings and we swapped out the c lifters for some gatermans In my '13 deluxe
I'm really happy with the result even though I haven't had it dyno tuned yet.
A little bit of a pig in 1st gear but I'm sure dyno will smooth that out. It really starts to go after 3k, a good power increase for a bolt in. The idle is different, nice and lumpy haha.
On another note the decel pop I was getting with the V&H big shots has completely gone, makes me wonder if there was a air leak and they were not installed properly from new?
Thanks to Ando for the install and advice I will post dyno results after I go up to Deanos
