Has anyone changed the gearing on their late model tourer?. Was hoping to get it reving a bit higher at cruise in 6th gear.
I went with a 68 rear pulley dropping the 66 tooth pulley to give it a bit more grunt in first and top. What year bike have you got paulybronco. 09 and later got the 68 rear pulley so your choice is 30 or 31 or you may get the triglide rear 70 tooth pulley.
Previous owner of my bike went to a 30 tooth front sprocket on his new Street Glide or Electra Glide and reckon it made a huge difference, apparently it helps when in 6th as it brings the revs up a bit earlier instead of lugging it, if any of that makes sense. Going by memory here.
Thanks gents, its a 2012 street glide. Are all the pulleys on the 103 motors compatable with each other eg dyna, softail etc?
Stock gearing for 2013 and 2014 range listed as 34/46 .Softail , Dyna , and Touring .
Sorry Pauly , just got that off the Harley site . Spare parts boys will know . Mine pulls 6th really well , under 100km/h no worries . Mind you , not up a hill , or lugging it , just on a flat stretch with light throttle .
Thought the 103 H.O. was advertising speak , but the motor is very torquey .
front pulley from Tri glide is 30 th and fits direct. It is the cheapest of all 30 th available. Think yours is cush drive 68 rear, don't know of a 70 available for it. Issues for front replacement... requires removal of inner primary to fit so If you don't have the correct tool you will pay the Dealer May need replacement Belt I fitted one to my dyna and got away with the belt, It comes down to how much adjustment you have left now.
