Try the nex and xrh helmets. Look online and at any big bike shop

Most open face helmets make you look like a mushroom head - he just wants one without as much padding...

I'm not even going to mention how to "fix" the mushroom head ones because the "padding" is there for a reason.

There is an argument to suggest, however, that those who don't want padding in their helmets (or, indeed, helmets at all) don't especially need it!

Hair spray and shoe polish. Though be careful of the whole blackface thing on hot days.

I've got an XRH which aren't as offensive as most. About $100. they sell em on ebay. Actually mine pretty comfy and I got a head that only seems to like AGV's or ARIA's.

heads shapes and sizes differ - I love the Bell 500 series but the helmet rolls forward/backwards on my head, went with the M2R custom, fits perfectly, better than all the others I have. $135 from Peter Stevens

    Try before you buy m2c

Down here in Tasmania (last free state in Australia?) the police don't care if your helmet has a approval sticker on it--I know a bloke who rides with a black plastic ski helmet. The "novelty"use ones sell well here as well------probably something to do with the fact we have to buy two-------------one for our extra head !!!

Awhile back I went into Kazzmazz and tried on one of the half peanut type helmets, as soon as I looked in the mirror I began to laugh as did the girl behind the counter!

If these things are made to make you look cool then they fail but you have to try them on for shits and giggles but preferably when you are not trying to impress anyone haha.

I'm starting to see lots of riders with the Bell Rogue helmet, they "seem" to look okay however I haven't tried one myself, I wear a normal black open face with a Smith's face shield.....all black of course as it makes me look bad ass or maybe just the ass.

I've got a really small head (XS-53cm), so open face helmets just make me look ridiculous.

Lowest profile open face I was able to find was the "Nex", but I also purchased a Bell Rogue. The Rogue looks ok with the snap-on face mask in place, but stupid if you remove it.

Depends on why you wear a helmet. If it's for crash protection then nothing beats a good full-face. If it's for weather protection then nothing beats a good full-face (if you are going to wear an open face then wearing a mask sort of invalidates the whole idea). But if you are going to wear a helmet to look bad-arse, a matt-black full-face with a black or iridium face-shield worries the hell out of most people because all they can see is a potential Mad Max doom.

Having said that, I sometimes like to wear an open face because I like the feel of the sun on my face. But not real practical on a long trip or fast ride.
