Installing Neck Race - Without a tool?

    Hi guys,

Got my frame back from powder during the week and have started putting my Dyna back together (slowly) but was wondering whether anyone has installed neck races without having a proper tool? I knocked the top one in with a steel punch and some very delicate taps with a small sledge type hammer but wanted to know whether there is a better way of doing this? I cant be bothered lashing out on a tool when it probably wont ever be used again.  Too many parts are installed to take it to a shop and have them do it now so it's case of doing in the garage?

    Any ideas

    Cheers

    Waz

it's like you have to clean the hole 1st , get all that coating off, find a bit of round bar that fit's or use a scocket,

Thanks DR, I cleaned the neck up with a rotary tool. I'll measure the neck diameter and see if i cant find something to fit

Go to Bunnings and get a length of threaded rod, 2 nuts and a couple of big washers.
