    Hi All,

I have just purchased a new factory Service Manual for the Sporster series, expecting to find the Valve Timing Specifications.

To my dissapointment, it does not publish such detail.

Has anyone got any idea where I can obtain these specs??

The idea is to understand stock timing then develop my own timing - love to tinker and develop performance engines.

    Pete

Harley won't give out stock cam specs ,thats because they need to pass the epa rules being air cooled engine's they spend money & time on passing , we buy theses bikes then we change them to suit ,   have a look in the Andrews cattledog for your model cams up the top will have stock cam specs , they are very narrow timings with late lobe centres ,  so as not to pass much air  so not much going out the exh pipe  & late lobe centre will allow it too rev thru the rev range ,
