tune after cam instal

Was after some advice on a tune post cam instal. I recently fitted some Andrews 26H cams and reset my Fuelpak to a map supplied from the website. It seems to go ok but it surges a little coasting to a rounderbout ect. I was thinking of pulling the pin on a super tuner but it seems a bit hexy to me.

The other thing is, I live down the soast coast of NSW so have limited options

I have found out we have a dyno here in Nowra and was speaking to the guys there and they recommend the Power Comm V, and will fit the PC V with a couple of hours on the dyno to get both cyclinders set up for $500ish.

I mentioned the Power Vision and they said they are getting it soon if I want to wait for that.

I'm happy with a piggyback and the PC V sounds like a big step up from the Fuelpak and within my budget.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers

    Gibo

Gibo there is going to be pages of people reply to this one. I have a power vision for my 2012 street glide and find it easy to use and change settings etc on. There are lots of very clever folks on here that can help with any tuner ypu decide on. Good luck!

Mate , what I've got out of reading and listening about tuning Harley's is , do your own research so you know the basics, ie, the difference piggyback and flash tuners and the simple fuel modules. They all have their place depending on your mods , from stock to mild to wild . Find a reputable tuner (if there local that's a bonus, you may be lucky with the shop in Nowra you mentioned), that talks sense and you click with, and your both on the same page, and whatever tuner he prefers ,(it will be one of 3 of the most popular devices), and go for it. Unless your ride is a highly modified fire breathing fucking machine that needs special attention, any of the popular advanced tuners in the right hands will put a smile on your face, and you will sleep well at night knowing your bike's engine is working and performing as good as can be. If your thinking of going down the DIY tuning because your a bit isolated, MORE RESEARCH is needed, there's plenty of info on this forum and others to keep you busy.

Now, start researching , and find that reputable tuner !!!! Good Luck !!!

    Hi Mate,

Dont know about supply, fit and Dyno tune for PCV for $500. When something is too cheap ya gotta ask?????   To dyno tune a fuelpak can be the most time consuming expencive process that you will ever pay for with a very low quality result!!!!!

Surley there is someone on the south coast that can install a Power Vision licence Key and dyno tune your bike for around the $900 mark with awesome results that you will enjoy for years to come. Surley there is someone that can do this job for you.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I often ask these questions and then the bike comes to me in Melbourne. What tha??.

    Cheers Brian.

Well I ended up getting the PC V fitted and dyno'd for $650 and I must say I am more than happy with the result.

The bike is as smooth as silk now, and has heaps more power.

They did 3 runs with the dyno

With oem fuel computer = 78hp

    With Fuelpak  = 84hp

    With PC V = 90hp

After the cam upgrade I used a canned map for the fuelpak I got from the V&Hines site and the bike didn't sound good at all. Even the wife said it doesn't sound right.

Well when I arrived home from the Indy the first thing she said was '"it sounds heap better" , so that's a good thing rightcheeky

    Cheers

    shfunky,
I agree with going to who you feel confident with.
Had a few convo's with Brian at EBT before trusting him with the cam and pipe install then the Dyno.

Funny about the Mrs mine said exactly the same thing, "sound better"

Enjoy the "new" ride I know I am.

When my bike was dynoed I rode away not being able to rev over 4k and the tuner new but didn't care. Be careful who you choose.
