G,day this is my first post & would like to hear some other riders experiences with new bikes purchased from harley dealers & also what you reckon about their service ( or lack of in my experience ) in my case. Not trying to bag dealers ( no names ) any way here is a story. After riding sports bikes for 20 years & growing up in a family of Harley heads I recently purchased a 2014 fatboy lo with stage 1 filter & v&h bigshots. Picked up the bike & was wrapped in my new bike although I considered it a $30k slug. Put up with it untill first service time, took back to dealer didn't want to whine about it ,paid $420 for first service, rode home only to see oil down the side of the bike. Check oil cold & oil is a full inch over full mark(COLD) had to muck around taking oil out of the tank to correct level on hot check & now after a few rides oil not spraying down the side of my bike. After talking to some family members who had heard the way my new bike runs I was introduced to Brian at Eastern Big Twin in Bayswater ,told the guy I'm pretty pissed about the whole Harley experience so far, I reluctantly let him have a crack at a full dyno tune.

Sorry this story is dragging on but here's the good part ,Brian was totally committed to changing my bike to what it should have always been, his customer service was a totally different thing to the dealer who sold me the bike. With a power vision licence & full dyno tune/ map I've gotta say I'm totally stoked how bloody good my bike is running, way more power ,way cooler, way smoother next to no farting & backfiring when backing off & much more rideable. Needless to say this bike will never go back for any servicing at the dealer. Ok I guess that's rant over, anyone got a similar story or are all Harley dealers this bad ?

    Cheers

Welcome. I also heard bad stories about the lack of tuning capabilities of one of the Adelaide Harley stealers. So I took mine straight to an independent tuner (Lushy) and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The stealer may have a dyno but I think there capabilities are limited to loading pre-canned maps.

Thanks for the input mate gotta say the dealer i used do a great job from a sales point of view but the service side was a huge let down & unfortunately now they've lost my business. Just like you did I've now found the right guy & couldn't be happier. Lesson learnt !

Mate, after spending 30K and copping that shit, I'd be complaining to one of the Consumer agencies.
Fuk that. Give me my money back you priks.
