Took the 48 for a long ride today and came back with a massive headache. Basically the exhaust (V&H twin slash) is way too loud even with the quiet baffles and it makes my ears cry. I could just harden up. However, I pussied out and put the standard pipes back on, went for a ride and came back with new found inner peace.
..Soooo... can any of you incredibly handsome and knowledgeable forum people provide any advice as to what slip-ons are out there that are only slightly louder (and slightly better sounding) than the standard ones?
Cheers, Ed,
I have the V&H straightshot slip ons with standard baffles (not the quiet ones) but also installed smartpartz baffles. They take the "crack" out and give a deeper tone. Could be a cheaper alternative to new pipes. Especially if you like the look you already have.
Ear plugs!!
But seriously I get a lot of wind noise with a open face helmet as well as exhaust noise.
As I get older there are three things that have become apparent in my life. Never waste a hard-on, never trust a fart and wear earplugs!
