Gents,

Need to replace the battery on my 08 FXD. Dealer will sell me the standard HD replcement one for $165,00.. 

 

Just wondering if anyone has a better option...

I use Odyssey Battery never had problems but then again my chopper has a 113 cube S&S fully worked and my trike runs extra lights and stuff but also these two bikes I never wont anyone to see me push starting them these batteries have never let me down and always run a trikle charger

Stick with the genuine factory bat

Why do people say to keep to the factory battery all the time? Is there a reason? My factory battery on the Dyna was shit and I didn't really notice how shit until I replaced it and my bike started firing up properly. I like the SSD or Redline batteries btw.

ok will do this again last time , as above oem battery are good for $165 from steeler, deker are good from battery supplier not battery world $200, I got my last one from
challenge battery's ? in jandekot aka perth $113 inc gst , ssb battery aka redline have used where a lot better than oem or deker for cranking 450cca+
but I did have a issue with my reg which was intermitted at the time two of them in 2,1/2 years will be building another bike soon almost got all the parts
but with this one I will be getting a redline from ebay to try again at $119 to your door and if they are the same as ssb thay are shit hot for cranking
cant say I am a big fan of the grey deka on the first start just dos not seem to have the grunt, compered to the oem black ( and has a tender )and down heaps to the ssb
when I had a ssb in my old bike before we had heaps of cca all the time cold or hot , a big + 1 to what dave has said been there done that , and charge as he said
thay sit on shelves for mths before some one buys them and never leave them sitting on concrete that stuffs them too my 5c

I all ways get a charge when I see you june with that sparkle in your eyes
