Very bloody unfortunate for the lady who lost her leg as a result of a alleged out of control Jap bike rider out Wallacia way yesterday, about 5 minutes from penrith.  It's a nice bumpy winding road perfect for the Jap bikes or Harley's to let loose. Might have to eat my words though regarding speeding on rural roads now. HWY patrol will no doubt increase their presense out that way as a result. Not good at all for those involved.

A MOTORCYCLIST died and a 52-year-old pedestrian lost her leg in an accident on a quiet road at Wallacia earlier today.

The accident happened in Bents Basin Rd at about 7.20am, when the motorcyclist apparently lost control of his bike, which collided with the pedestrian.

The impact of the collision was so severe it amputated the woman's leg.

St Marys acting crime manager Detective Acting Inspector Michael Bourke said the male motorcyclist, who was 37-years-old and a resident of Glenmore Park, died at the scene.

Inspector Bourke said the woman, who was from Wallacia, was on a morning walk with her dog.

He said the woman lost her leg from the impact of the crash.

"She was taken by helicopter to Liverpool Hospital where she is having surgery," Inspector Bourke said.

"The dog died as a result of the impact of the accident.

"It was an extremely unfortunate accident; it is not a busy road."

i wouldn't like too go against the bike rider as that road is very old & bumpy  surface  he could of hit a bump or oil on 1 of those corners  or both a lot of trucks use that road , we all know how danger may happen on a motorcycle  , even if he maybe was going for it a bit  we all do it , if there is no thrill or danger riding a motorcycle , i would not be so much in love with my bikes

I know that road very well and have ridden it dozens upon dozens of times. As DR56 said above the road holds a lot of suprises and I have seen plenty of crashes there.
