I've been lurking on here for a while getting advice on bikes and things. After originally looking at sportsters, I was convinced the twin cams are good to go, so then I started looking at wide glides, then I thought I'd be better off buying the bike I want forever, and hence I just rode back from Melb to Syd on my new to me 07 Night Train. Not a bad ride to get to know the bike. This is my first harley and I just need to the handle bars closer to me, other than that its good to go. I have a set of black short shots to go on after I transfer the rego to NSW. It goes like the clappers with the 103 kit thats in it. Still don't know what brand it is.

The previous owner said the bike has a 103 kit in it, it has manual decompression buttons on the heads, at what stage of modification do you required manual decompression. Also a SE tuner, does it stay on the bike or do you just tune with it? I don't really know much about the modifying side of Harley engines.

Cheers. It need a good polish, I was thinking of pulling the speedo off and seat and polishing up the tank and fenders. Anyone know how hard it is to pull the speedo surround off the tank? Also rust is forming on the spokes, any tips on curing the rust?

cheers for that, I ended up just giving it a good wash and it came up good. Now to go riding tomorrow...
