when you adj the main scew , back the cable way off so you have plenty of slack, back adj scew off fully till free then screw in gentle untill it touches  then pull the lever in & out 3 times  make sure no change in feel then screw in  & 1/2  full turn & load the clutch again pull the lever in & out 3 times  then back off screw should be exact 1/2  turn load still if so , back it off, set adj too out 1/2 turn free  & lock up then adj cable with a little slack in it & test if no good i would pull the plates back out & have a look , pre soak fibre's  plates in oil 1st

I have the right number of steel and the right number of fibre all plates are in the right order and i did not presoak the plates just gave them a coating a put together depends what you class as a presoak re cable and s crew it has been done that way i searched this forum before i adjusted and everyone said to do that way so I did I am going to run out of hair the way this is going. To take the primary off I have to remove the trike body which is nothing short of a major pain but also is a major pain when the clutch is not right

Did you replace both fiber and steel plates. The steel plate may be warped causing your dragging clutch. The cable could be stretching under load and just about fucked.

i would be checking yhe thro-out bearing & pushrod  , put a new bearing @least it's & older bike if she has done a lot of city miles  & the rider has been sitting @ lights with the clutch in then this stuffs the thro out bearing  esp if its not getting enough oil .               i don't use those ALTO brand plates , Barnetts or factory brand is all iv'e ever used, i used a set of those Energy one brand once only in krash kinkade buell never again  what a pain in the arse only because @ the time i could not get Barnetts,

very rarely but sometimes an aftermarket clutch plate aint right i bought the everything I could to redo the setup all plates spring plate and diaphram its either fibre plates or steel plates or spring plate 1 of these is giving me a problem so just bought a full heavy duty 9 fibre plate rather than a 8 fibre which loses the spring plate and heavy duty diaphram spring all parts are now screaming eagle the extra fibre plate ive been told ill get 30 % extra grip on the plates sounds good but just glad to have good parts some things should never be aftermarket and honestly because i work 6 days a week and the problem started late on a sunday mca where the only option in my opinion it was the spring plate but i will never know what caused this headache thanks for everyones input
