I get this way every few months. Am on annual leave for the moment, have just finished a tour of NZ and off to Cairns and back over the next week.

Have just been out to fuel up and I reckon that combination of Redline oils in Tranny and Primary has done the trick... no more "clunk" out of the box.

Attached some picks... not much has changed except the ISO pegs and Shotgun. Been thinkin bout a Danny Gray Airhawk seat, have left my run a bit late for this trip.

Sounds like you're livin the dream mate! Bikes lookin neat, what engine cleaner you using? And how you find then bars in long trips? I got an open primary coming but I think I'll try the redline in the tranny if it's worked that well for you.

Arrived home today... is a shame to stop. You've got some brilliant country in the north... weather was great... and corners!! (don't get them much in the west). After 8 days on the road the bike never missed a beat. Even tho the bars are a reach.... I've no issues with arm or back pain. I do tend to move around on the bike alot (feet on the back pegs etc... 2.5 - 3hr stints ).

Think I'll still look into that Danny Gray airhawk seat.

Not sure how you'll go with the open primary??? I reckon of the two different Redline oils in tranny & primary work well together. There's still the "clunk" if it's rushed into 1st, but take the time and you can't tell if it's even gone into gear.

As for the wash up.... just using CT18 over the bike, garden hose wash, Windex on the Denim and chrome and Engine Brightener to bring out the black engine bits.

Am gonna be up for a new set of feet shortly.... they haven't lasted long.

Fuck stop this talk about long rides haha I haven't seen my bike in 6 weeks? I dunno I lost count. Definitely worth getting the "right" seat for you mate if you're riding that many k's

Windex on the denim? First I've heard of it to be honest. Is that help get rid of the streaks that are left after?

Hey Vovi all is well for me. Ok not so great. Took mine for a spin for the first time in months and got a flat 20 min in. Was the only day I got to ride it. Then I lost my license for a few months so no riding for awhile. Tripple tress and open belt primary has arrived but over3 months now and still waiting for the new wheel. Went down to Sydney for 6 weeks and back on the Gold Coast now so not much for me for awhile.

Ok so 5 months later and my wheel finally arrives....so now I've finally started pulling it down to fit everything, and paint a whole bunch of things. In particular all the gloss parts black. Expect for wheels. New open belt primary I should have on by tonight fingers crossed and I might even start wrapping the pipes if all goes wheel....for the mean time here's a sneak peak of the dash....I'm in love with this new look (sorry bout the sideways pic)

Well he's progress so far, dash and pipes are done, various other parts blacked out as well. Half way through putting the open primary on and I've started to strip the front down to changed the whole setup. Have to say this thing is looking killer in person, I'm over the moon with it...abit of a sneak peak so far

Nearly complete, so far the billet trees are on, front end lowered 4 inches, new billet rim with a 140 tyre on the front, and the open primary is on (cover for clutch not on in pic).

Starting to look a bit like a rat..

    Hey Squid
Hope all's goin well and your out on the road..... was over your way last week and got in 3 days riding in some of that great spring weather there, Maleny, Woodford, Mee... all the usual stuff (was in withdrawal).
Missed the bike so much.... I picked up a Ultra Limited when I got back here in the west... ( not quite the Train.... but holds more cartons ).

I'd like to know how that open primary's goin for ya... a bloke here has just gone to "chain and sprocket" on his final drive, am waiting on his thoughts?

Hey Dez mate how are ya? All is well here thanks. Sounds like you been living the dream. I can't complai though I've ben heading up north on my breaks quite a bit lately, getting a bit of riding in. Fuck mate an ultra, things must be going well! I tell us what, some days I wish I could carry more then a wallet. I have a really nice garage leathers swing arm bag, I just need to do a few mods to make it fit right with the axle covers. Still be lucky to fit more then a few beers in it haha.

The primary is going great, no dramas what so ever. Bike feels a little lighter (quite a big difference in weight compared to the enclosed wet primary). I'm kicking myself I didn't put the chain and sproket on when I did the primary, but it's defintely on the cards very soon. I'm actually thinking of going a sproket/brake setup as I want to upgrade the brakes also so why not add the lot together.

My original fear of chain drives was after guy was killed in my home town when the chain snapped locking his rear wheel and throwing him into a pole. Then a mate a work same thing happened and almost lost his leg. But since then I've talked to a lot of old blokes that have used them all their lives without a single problem. I have to say I hate the thought of snapping a belt in the middle of no where, and I have plans on much more power down the track.

Good to hear from you again thanks mate

And the pulley bolts are black, not sure what you were looking at?

TJU the misses still doesn't have any proper riding gear, started buying her some stuff this week. Her shoes were actually pink, I photoshopped it to orange so the pink didn't look so girly lol.
The peg actually extends past the outside of the belt despite how it looks in the pic, and it's a good 5-6 inches back. You'd habe to be clumsy to stand on it its that far from it

Thanks Volvo! She has won a few Ralph magazine model comps, Very nice. Was going to get a few professional ones done with her on the bike in something a little more sexy
