Ah cool thanks heaps for that. That helped explain it much better then the instructions that came with it

Yeah the rear up lifts the bike. Try it, raise both switches to full height. Then down on rear switch until at lowest point. Then hit rear switch up and it dumps air out of the down side tank of the shocks causing the compressed air in the up side tank to force the piston back as it loses resistance from the down side dropping pressure, which in turn raises the bike pretty fast. Just like when it's fully up and you hit the front down and dump the air out of the front tank it drops to the ground fast.

As In that thread he says the rear switch up "RAISES the bike HEIGHT + decreases REBOUND (air dump)".....so that's why when I was riding low today and when I hit rough road I gave the rear a flick up and in a split second it raises and at the same time decreases my rebound, making that rough road much more enjoyable. Does that make sense?

Well i blacked out my engine fins and made a couple other neat littlle touches. Im stoked with how it turned out...starting to think of maybe dithching the custom dash and going back to the factory dash and leather tank and rear fender bibs to go for a more of a rattier look. Always been into rat rods, and im digging the idea of making this bike more along the lines

yip.... got that sorted a few weeks ago, (think ya might have beat me to it).... it's a great bit of gear ain't it!! Will be back that way in May and get some pic's done then. Has had some bling added... (but still not to shiny)

Whats your thoughts on the Mobil V twin oil / Redline Heavy in the box / and maybe Redline ATF in Primary? have trolled through the goss of the last couple of years and seems to be the way to go?

Dezza there's so many options out there iI couldn't tell you the best option from experience but I'm about the change my clutch pack and try and been thinking of trying the redline ATF myself. Got the HD stuff in there now and there's definitely got to be better oils out there then that, my shifts aren't the smoothest at the moment but that could also been my plates that I suspect are glazed from slipping a few times recently

98superglide, the bars I had custom made from a mob in the states called BR Customs. They were made to my specs worked off the sweeping beater style, had them put the solid gussets in too.

Was bored so pulled the bump stop out and shaved it down a little. Could of shaven it a bit more but thought I'd do it in stages so I didn't take it too far. Got about 5-7mm lower. Realized after I done I only have 5mm gap between fender and right sideswing arm, so I'll have to leave it at that

Cheers Squid, my changes are a bit chucky also... hence been researchin it.

Just a thought on the extra "slam" job you've done there, (didn't know it was possible to get that low... looks great), I'm wondering if there could ever be an issue with allowing the Shotguns to ride at full stroke (like top and bottoming out pistons on hydraulic rams is bad for business..) I'd hate to damage the seals inside... (if thats possible ?)

Hey Dezza keep us posted on what you use and how it goes for ya, as you will do it before me I'd say as the new clutch is sitting beside the 3" Arlen extension foward controls that covered in a thick layer of dust from the months of sitting there. For some reason some things I can't wait to do and other mods just sit there for a day I'm extremely bored haha
Thanks for the compliments mate. I can't say for sure that slamming it that low won't damage it, but from my understanding it's still not at full stretch. You can actually remove the bump stop and mod the swing arm in some way to get it to go lower. So sitting on the bump stop isn't actually maxing the shocks out, so if you ride that low you're only bouncing off the rubber bump stop, it's not the piston slamming at the end of the cyclinder.

Ryno you are on the money, that's just at the top of Harvey's range

Oils are ordered and will have that done bout first of May... will keep ya posted...

Sorry , thought you'd mentioned the bump stops had been taken out, hence my worry bout overstrokin the Shotgun.. (still looks excellent fully lowered.... and great for gettin the leaf's off the path round the house)

Nah just shaved the bump stop down. It looks as though there would be a bit of fender fabrication required if the bump stop was removed. I like having some sort of protection in there so that will be as far as I take it for now.

Not wrong about it being a great leaves blower, if I don't keep the garage floor clean, it blows shit every where haha

After spending a while up in north QLD I'm finally back down on the Gold Coast. Won't be brining my bike back down for another 6 weeks or more though if anyone's keen for a ride then down around here

My billet triple trees arrived, just waiting on the wider rc components billet wheel and the exile 3" open primary to arrive. Also have some arlen ness 3" forward extensions and lower front springs to put in while I'm picking the bike up in 6 or so weeks so it will be a full on 5 days trying to fit all that, see how I go

Always up for a ride while in the East... ( don't know if that came out right Squid)....

Am in Brissy at the moment and have changed out the oils over the last few days. Primary done last night and will give it a run tomorrow. Whilst not noticing a great difference from the dealer service... am glade to have a good look over the bike. The tranny bung was on it's way out, (as you know, hidden behind the Shotgun would never have found it till to late!!). The routing of the air hose to the shocks was dubious as well,(up against the drive belt and primary...wtf!.)

All in all a good exercise, and considering the condition of the oils and o'rings on a job that was supposedly done only 3k ago, am glad to have the new stuff in.

Got over 3k to do this next week, so that should sort out any more gremlins....

You ride up here often Dezza?

No body will take as much care in servicing your bike as yourself. Sounds like you're very lucky you did the service this time too. Mate that is very lucky about the bung, got me thinking I better check mine before riding it down in June.

3k is a good hike, have to say I'm a little jealous. Haven't ridden the bike in nearly 3 weeks and still have another 5 to go before I see it
