    Hey Guys,
Not sure if its my Battery or if the starter motor is stuffed? I have charged the battery up for a few days on a trickle charger and it says its charged but when I go to start the bike all that happens is a rapid clicking sound. All the lights etc work but won't turn over?
    Cheers Jack

how old is the battery , if its 4 yrs or more or a bad brand  ? , best jump start with a good set of jumper leads  then check bike charging system rate  with a meter

Thanks for that, I tried it with a jump starter pack but same thing happened, So I hooked up the jumper leads from me coupe and she fired up straight away, looks like its the battery.

Battery , charging and the electrical system can be a pain in the arse to diagnose problems if you have'nt got a  basic understanding of electrics. The internet is your friend if you want to learn the basics of motorcycle electrics. With all the videos etc, you should be able to save a few bucks and sort out the minor problems that arise instead of taking your bike to a workshop.  First off buy a good multimeter.  Then when you give your bike a service have a play with the multimeter and check battery etc, and get used to all the figures your getting,  volts and ohms etc.    I've attached a little info that is basic ,  if you can understand it , it will get you out of trouble most of the time.

That's some Great info markwoumla. I will have to buy meself a multimeter and have a bit of a play.
I took the original Harley Battery to the local Battery shop this morning and got it tested even though it was showing fully charged it was only registering 49cca
Ended up buying a new heavy duty battery Battery putting out 325cca

even with the new battery now that you have bought a suggestion would be first ride to take to an auto electrician and get your charging circuit checked just to be sure
