I have just been in the intro section and statted I have a problem. Here it is. Just got my first brand new HD a 1200 Sportster 2014 model. I had the Dealer fit a first stage tune Kit. ( all HD ) the problem is when I'm out with the Boys on a ride they tell me the Baffels in the slipons glow a bright orange on long de-acceleration (going down long hills) and the like. I went back to the Dealer, but they said they have had no other reports of this. They did check the mapping of the tuneing and richened up the fule mix, then sent me on my way with a " It's a new modle + new type slipons from HD". The boys on the next ride said it was still there ( the glowing) The increased richness in the fule hit my m/p/g so contacted the dealer asking if they know not what if any the problem was can they ask HD. We will wait till a bike and system like yours come in and check that one??? they say. Facts I know to be true. They gave me the Orange box interface with HD markings. The slipons as I can see have no HD markings (or any other). The air intake they say is HD. I have had my first service. The m/p/g is back to about that when I first got the bike becouse the last time I was at their workshop asked if the richened mix did not help the problem (if) they think it OK can we go back to their first " normal " setting to help with the m/p/g. I ask at this time "just after Christmas" have they have had any info from HD. No not yet they say. Not sure if any contact was made by dealer to HD going by the comment "a Bike like mine coming in", and yes this was from another person as the worshop Manager was out. The forum will not be able to help me with my dealings with the dealer thats up to me, but has anyone seen or heard of glowing baffels before. More to the point what if any is the problem or is there a problem. Hope to hear from someone soon. Old Sandy.
