Bolt on Cams

I'm looking to increase power on my 2014 Fatbob. I have been quoted $2000 for bolt on cams and a tune. What sort of increases can I expect and is it worth the money spent.

I think I paid $900 for supply and fit cams, and $950 for the power vision tuner and dyno tune. So $2000 sounds a bit steep if you already have the tuner.

Definitely worth doing, provided you pick the right cams for your needs. I used the SE204 cams in my 2013 Dyna switchback. Very happy with them. Along with a full 2-1 exhaust and stage 1 AC, got about 97hp.

Do it yourself if you can mate.

My cams, 106 big bore and professional dyno tune came in well under that price

Good on you Ando for your offer to help a bro out as the $2000 he was quoted is very steep

I had a set of the 211 Cams installed into my 13 Bob and cost $1100 through Frasers. Granted it was off peak but if ya haggle a bit, they might come down...

Never got it Dyno'd, and i'm thinking that's probably my next step but in all honestly, it runs great, non pop on decal, smooth as and pulls hard. Was a huge leap for little coin, I recommend it.

Changing cams is so easy, 2 hour job.  The only potential issue is if you are running gear drive cams and you have crank run out outside the tolerence window.  How do you burn your bike changing cams? You don't need to touch the fuel line?

    97hp & 156nm so far.  103 CI Dyna.  Mods = SE204 cams, D&D 2-1 Fatcat exhaust, SE stage 1 breather.

Planning to do some modifications to the exhaust baffle/collector to increase power and make it quieter, plus change the air filter for a K&N.  Fully expecting to get 100hp without any internal engine modifications.

No problem Alan. I would agree with your earlier statement if it was just in reference to the SE255/254 cams.

For clarification to other members looking at my dyno chart: the before (red line) and after (blue line) are with all the physical modifications done. Red line is pre-dyno tune. Blue line is post-dyno tune.

Moral of the story: don't underestimate the gains from a proper dyno tune after you do your modifications.

Heres one for you's, my bike with SE 254e cams. almost the same as the 204 cams. Nothing wrong with a SE came for a mild build.

97Hp and 109 ft lbs TQ
