i know this topic gets alot of heat as there are a bunch of guys who think they can go round starting MC's because they have watched to much SOA. im simply putting it out there as ti what people think of people starting a RC and could it work without drawing to much attention from the existing clubs / scrutiny of the average rider.

What im bassically looking to do is find a group of guys who are commited to the group or club, similar to the 1% clubs in terms of commitment to the club, but i know labelling such a group as an MC attracts scrutiny. my idea is also to have the members be able to be spread across a large demograpic yet come together every fortnight and ride together, party together and so forth.

I know there are such groups out there already but there to "open" i guess you could say in terms of membership as im thinking a traditional membership criteria type thing. please note i have upmost respect for the 1% clubs

just throwing ideas out there as im really wanting to find some regular riders and looking to form a tight knit group. im very tied between showing interest in a 1% club as my regional location makes it hard.

any feedback, interest or advice on this would be appreciated

You don't need to be in no Fkn club, that's what this forum is about, if you introduce yourself you might get to meet some
great blokes that love to ride most weekends, no matter where you are located.

Let me get this straight: You want to join a 1% club but can't commit due to your regional location, but you are going to start your own club that meets fortnightly, presumably in that regional location with a broad demographic of people that will enjoy smearing shit on each other?

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

i knew this would attract this kind of attention. i am aware that a 1% club takes fulltime commitment, like give up your job etc. whats wrong with wanting to start a club with a close knit group of people? there are plenty out there are there not?
has anyone hear had experience with 1% mcs? or is everyone against them here?

Does RC = Religious Club or remote control or what? I'd presume he means SC (social club) in which case there's nothing wrong with that as long as he's not retarded enough to try looking like a 1% MC. He came here looking for advice, and it's obvious by some of the shit he said he needs it, so why don't you give him credit for at least seeking out info - or isn't the purpose of this forum to give information?

You have not said were you are from, this could be a start on finding a ride club in your area, this would save you doing all the work.
HOG is an idea, they ride regularly.
easyriders in Adelaide have a north and south chapter for a ride club.

I live on the Eyre peninsula we have a couple ride clubs that are Harley (predominantly). British-American and Jap clubs.
2 x 1% clubs, I have the fortune to have relatives in both of them, makes family days exciting yet respectful (will the streamers be red or blue???)

We don't have any trouble with the clubs as we don't try to impersonate them, we get good turnouts for rides with colorful vests with our club patch (small) on the front, no rockers on the back, as we were a HOG chapter some guys still have the larger patch on their back, yet we still don't pretend to be what we are not.
a community our size, we also work with most of them.
we have 126 financial members, 72 for the AGM, never had more than 25 turn up for a ride, generally 12 regulars. we are spread across the state though

you may be surprised what is in your area

most clubbies do have regular jobs and family's, this is not the seventies

Seriously mate, just go out and ride with your mates.
If you dont have any that ride, advertise locally and see what response you get.
Overtime you might want to call it a Club or Register it, but all that takes time.
If you have the Drive do it, don't try to be "Hard AS" though all you'll come down from both sides of the law.

In fact you don't need a club or even friends to go on a ride, many of my best rides have been by myself. Lately in the last 5 years my wife is on the back pillion, and we have a great time. There is very little planning just warm clothes if its cold or a lighter jacket if it's hot.
    Just get out and ride.

I was wondering if my vespa would also be ok?

My mum has a sewing machine so she can help with our patches.

    I'll be treasurer,

Just send me your applications with $100 processing fee and your in!

Cos we are all going to get on so well and not be a full on 1% club, maybe we can call ourselves the  "Sons of Amicably!"

    Peter
